About me

In 2014, at the tender age of 57, I discovered rowing for myself. I had just moved to the south of Munich and was about to buy a rowing machine. A visiting friend said: “Are you crazy, you live right by the Ammersee! This has developed into a great passion, and because I also love writing, into this blog. I have already written a bunch of articles about rowing and will continue to do so. But right from the start, I took the liberty of focusing on other topics too. So much has happened in recent years, the world has changed, not necessarily for the better, and I’m realizing more and more that I have a lot to say about it. It needs to get out, it needs an outlet, and keeping quiet is not an option – far too many people are already doing that. That’s why I also use this blog as a platform for everything else and almost always find a moral core in it. Because I didn’t want to call the blog “The Schoolmaster”, it has remained coxbox. It’s all in the mix, and it’s supposed to be fun.

I didn’t realize my career aspirations of becoming a journalist. Instead, I worked as an entrepreneur in the field of corporate communications. I’ve been doing “nothing” since 2008. I got happily married in 2023, I think I’m quite old, but I feel quite young. And now I want to see what comes next.
